Privacy Policy

OmegleCamChat is a free, anonymous random cam chat service. This Privacy Policy explains what little data we collect, how we use it to keep the platform safe, and the choices you have over it.

Effective DateJanuary 1, 2024
Last UpdatedMay 19, 2026

OmegleCamChat does not record your cam chats. Live video and audio are streamed peer-to-peer between you and the stranger you're matched with, and are not stored on our servers after the call ends.

1. Introduction & Scope

Welcome to OmegleCamChat. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle data. This Privacy Policy applies to everyone who uses randomcamchatonline.com and any service we operate under the OmegleCamChat brand.

OmegleCamChat is designed around a simple promise: you should be able to have a real face-to-face conversation with a stranger without creating an account, handing over an email address, or leaving a chat history behind. This policy describes how we keep that promise — and the limited cases in which we have to collect data to keep the platform safe.

By using OmegleCamChat, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect as little as we can get away with. Here is everything we touch, grouped by why we touch it.

2.1 Technical data needed to connect a cam chat

  • IP address — used to route your peer-to-peer connection, estimate your country for matching, and prevent abuse (rate limiting, ban enforcement). We do not associate your IP with a long-term identity.
  • Browser and device fingerprint — a short hash of your user agent, screen size, and platform, used solely to prevent banned users from rejoining immediately.
  • WebRTC session metadata — start time, end time, and approximate region of the peer. Used to operate the matching service and detect technical errors.

2.2 Data you choose to share in a chat

Anything you say or show on camera is shared directly with the other user over an encrypted peer-to-peer connection. OmegleCamChat does not record, transcribe, or store this content. Be aware that the person on the other side could capture it locally with screen-recording tools we cannot control — treat every cam chat as if it could be recorded by the other party.

2.3 Data we collect when you report another user

When you tap the report button during a cam chat, we capture a short video snippet (typically the most recent 5–10 seconds) of the reported peer, along with your report category and the session metadata. This evidence is retained only until the report is reviewed and any enforcement action is taken. See Section 7 for retention details.

2.4 Cookies and local storage

We use a minimal set of cookies and browser localStorage entries to remember your filter choices (country, language), enforce age confirmation, and prevent abuse. See Section 5 for the full list.

3. How We Use Information

We use the data described in Section 2 only for the following purposes:

  • To operate the service — establish peer-to-peer connections, match you with another user, and handle disconnects and reconnects.
  • To keep the platform safe — detect and act on abuse, enforce bans, review reports, and protect users from harassment, nudity directed at unconsenting users, and underage activity.
  • To meet legal obligations — respond to valid law-enforcement requests when properly served, and preserve evidence relating to crimes against users.
  • To diagnose technical issues — aggregated error logs help us fix camera, microphone, and connectivity problems.

We do not use your data for advertising profiles. We do not sell your personal information. We do not train AI models on your cam chats. We do not match conversations to any external identity.

4. Recordings & Cam Chat Content

This section deserves its own heading because it is the question we are asked most often.

OmegleCamChat does not record your live video or audio. The cam chat stream is a WebRTC peer-to-peer connection between your browser and the other user's browser. The stream does not pass through a recording server we control, and we do not save it for any purpose.

The only exceptions are:

  • When another user reports you, a short video snippet of you (5–10 seconds, captured by the reporting user's browser) is sent to our moderation team for review. This snippet is retained as described in Section 7.
  • When you yourself report another user, the same short snippet is captured from the reported user's side and sent to us.

What we cannot control: the other user could record their screen locally with software we have no visibility into. Treat every cam chat as if the other party could capture it. Do not display anything on camera that you would not be comfortable being captured.

5. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use cookies and browser localStorage for three reasons:

  • Functional — remember your preferred country and language filter so you don't have to set them every visit; remember that you've confirmed you are 18 or older.
  • Security — enforce bans, prevent automated clients from spamming the matching service, and rate-limit abusive behavior.
  • Analytics — we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits, understand which landing pages people find useful, and measure broad regional distribution. GA4 sets _ga and _ga_* cookies (typically retained for 13 months) and reports anonymized IP addresses. We do not link analytics data to any advertising profile and do not run third-party advertising trackers.

You can clear your cookies and localStorage at any time through your browser settings. Doing so will reset your filters and your age confirmation, but will not affect any data held server-side.

To opt out of Google Analytics across every website that uses it, install Google's official Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6. Information Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in the limited circumstances below:

  • With the peer you're chatting with — anything you say or show on camera is, by definition, shared with the other user. That is the whole point of a cam chat.
  • With service providers — we use a small number of vendors for TURN/STUN relay infrastructure, error logging, and abuse-prevention. These providers are bound by contractual data-protection terms and may only process data on our instructions.
  • With law enforcement — when we receive a valid, properly served legal request relating to a specific investigation, or when we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent harm to a user or the public.
  • In the event of a business transfer — if OmegleCamChat is acquired or merges with another entity, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

7. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as we need it. Specifically:

  • Live cam chat content — not retained. Streams are peer-to-peer and not saved on our servers.
  • Session metadata (IP, fingerprint, region, time) — retained for up to 30 days for abuse detection and operational diagnostics, then automatically deleted.
  • Report evidence (video snippets) — retained for up to 90 days from the date of the report, then deleted. Snippets associated with confirmed serious violations may be retained longer where required to cooperate with law enforcement.
  • Ban records — retained as long as the ban is in effect. Permanent bans are retained indefinitely to prevent banned users from returning.
  • Aggregated analytics — non-identifying aggregate counts may be retained indefinitely for product planning.

8. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the UK Data Protection Act, and similar legislation in other jurisdictions. Specifically, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you (in OmegleCamChat's case, this is almost always limited to recent session metadata associated with your IP).
  • Request deletion of your personal data, subject to any legal retention obligations.
  • Object to processing or restrict the way we process your data.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise these rights, please write to [email protected] with the words "Privacy Request" in the subject line. Because OmegleCamChat is anonymous, we will ask you to provide enough technical detail (approximate dates and times of use, IP address you used, country) for us to locate the relevant records. We aim to respond to all verified requests within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

OmegleCamChat is for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. The platform is unsuitable for minors and our moderation team treats any indication that a user is underage as a zero-tolerance violation: the account is removed immediately, the evidence is preserved, and, where required by law, we report the matter to the appropriate authorities.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has accessed OmegleCamChat, please contact us at [email protected] and we will act on your report immediately.

10. Data Security

We take security seriously and implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data we collect:

  • Cam chat streams travel over encrypted WebRTC (DTLS-SRTP) peer-to-peer connections.
  • Our website is served exclusively over HTTPS (TLS 1.2+).
  • Internal access to moderation evidence is restricted to a small team of trained moderators and logged for audit.
  • Server data is encrypted at rest where supported by our hosting provider.

No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure. If we ever discover a breach that affects user data, we will investigate promptly and notify affected users where required by law.

11. Third-Party Services & Links

OmegleCamChat does not embed third-party advertising trackers or social-media share widgets that would set their own cookies. We do use a small number of providers to operate the service:

  • Infrastructure — TURN/STUN relay, content delivery (CDN), error logging, and hosting. These providers may briefly process technical data such as IP addresses on our behalf and only as required to keep the service running.
  • Google Analytics 4 — for the aggregate visit counting described in Section 5. Data flows to Google under its Privacy Policy. See Section 5 for the cookies it sets and how to opt out.

Links from OmegleCamChat to external websites are provided for convenience. We do not control the content or privacy practices of those sites and are not responsible for them. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party services you choose to use.

12. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in how we operate or in applicable law. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, post a prominent notice on the homepage for a reasonable period after the change takes effect.

Your continued use of OmegleCamChat after a Privacy Policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.
